Tragic Loss: Renowned Singer Mallika Rajput Found Deceased at Home, Authorities Investigate Suspected Suicide

Renowned singer Vijay Lakshmi, known by her stage name Mallika Rajput, was discovered dead at her residence in a perplexing circumstance, leading local authorities to suspect suicide.

Mallika's mother Sumitra Singh said that she did not know when the incident took place.

The 35-year-old singer’s lifeless body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in a room within her house in the Sitakund locality of the Kotwali police station area, as reported by the police on Tuesday.

Sumitra Singh, Mallika’s mother, expressed her lack of awareness about the exact timing of the incident, stating that the family was asleep when the tragedy occurred.

Shriram Pandey, the in-charge of Kotwali police station, indicated that, prima facie, the situation points towards a case of suicide. However, he emphasized that the conclusive cause of Mallika’s death would be determined once the postmortem report is available.
